DSS-induced ulcerative colitis model

Background
Dextran sulfate sodium (DSS) is a sulfated polysaccharide synthesized from sucrose, which exerts anti-hemostatic and anticoagulant effects similar to heparin. The mechanism underlying DSS-induced ulcerative colitis may involve impaired DNA synthesis, inhibited epithelial cell proliferation, and disrupted intestinal mucosal barrier, leading to the migration of intestinal flora into the lamina propria, followed by excessive activation of macrophages and dysfunction of Th1/Th2/Th17 cells.
Materials and methods
C57BL/6 mice (male, 4–5 weeks old)

Modeling method: The ulcerative colitis model was established by administration of DSS in drinking water for 7 days, with the solution replaced every 2 days.

Evaluation indicators: gross observation and scoring, ELISA (colonic D-LA, plasma CE), HE staining
Test and verify
