Coal tar combined with *Cutibacterium acnes* to induce a rabbit ear acne model
Coal tar combined with *Cutibacterium acnes* to induce a rabbit ear acne model
Background
Acne is a chronic inflammatory skin disease of the pilosebaceous unit, also known as \"pimples\". It is closely related to excessive androgen secretion, invasion of *Cutibacterium acnes*, keratinization and obstruction of pilosebaceous ducts, etc.
Coal tar stimulation can induce hyperplasia and excessive keratinization of local skin keratinocytes, mimicking local manifestations of acne. Intradermal injection of *Cutibacterium acnes* can simulate the external manifestations and inflammatory pathogenesis of acne through bacterial infection.
Materials and methods
New Zealand white rabbits (either gender, 2–2.5 kg)
Modeling method: Coal tar application combined with *Cutibacterium acnes* inoculation on the inner side of rabbit ears.
Evaluation indicators: gross observation, HE staining, serum ELISA
