STZ combined with high-fat diet-induced type 2 diabetes mellitus model

Background
Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic clinical syndrome. With improved living standards, population aging and rising obesity rates, its incidence is increasing year by year. Persistent hyperglycemia causes chronic damage and dysfunction in various tissues, especially the eyes, kidneys, heart, blood vessels and nerves. Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) accounts for more than 90% of diabetic patients, characterized by hyperglycemia, relative insulin deficiency and insulin resistance. Common symptoms include polydipsia, polyuria, and weight loss, which may also be accompanied by polyphagia, fatigue, or soreness.
Materials and methods
SD rats (male, approximately 300 g)
Modeling method: After 8 weeks of high-fat diet feeding, a single intraperitoneal injection of STZ solution was performed to successfully establish a type 2 diabetes mellitus model.
Evaluation indicators: Blood glucose measurement, serum ELISA
Test and verify
