Nerve injury-induced neurogenic erectile dysfunction model

Background
Neurogenic erectile dysfunction is mainly caused by pathological alterations of nerves. When such lesions occur at the neuromuscular junctions among the pelvic cavernous nerves and the smooth muscles surrounding blood sinuses and helicine arteries, the release of neurotransmitters is impaired, thereby resulting in neurogenic erectile dysfunction. Non‑sharp injury to the cavernous nerve was performed to block nerve conduction, so as to establish a rat model of neurogenic erectile dysfunction.
Materials and methods
SD rats (male, 6–8 weeks old)
Modeling method: The cavernous nerve was clamped together with a syringe needle using hemostatic forceps, and the forceps were fully occluded for 1 minute to successfully establish the neurogenic erectile dysfunction model.
Evaluation index: Cavernous pressure measurement
Test and verify

Cavernous pressure detection
