OVA combined with hydrochloric acid-induced non-erosive gastroesophageal reflux disease model

Background
Non-erosive gastroesophageal reflux disease (NERD) is defined as a condition in which gastric and duodenal contents reflux into the esophagus, causing regurgitation, heartburn and other typical symptoms, without esophageal mucosal damage or Barrett’s esophagus. NERD is generally associated with increased esophageal visceral hypersensitivity, abnormal esophageal contractile function, psychological factors and other mechanisms. In this protocol, intraperitoneal injection of OVA combined with esophageal hydrochloric acid instillation is applied to simulate gastric acid reflux under visceral hypersensitivity, so as to induce a rat model of non-erosive gastroesophageal reflux disease.
Materials and methods
SD rats (male, 8–9 weeks old)
Modeling method: Intraperitoneal injection of OVA for visceral sensitization. Two weeks later, hydrochloric acid was perfused into the esophagus to successfully establish the non-erosive gastroesophageal reflux model.
Evaluation index: HE staining
Test and verify

Esophageal tissue HE staining
