Acetic acid-induced oral ulcer model
Acetic acid-induced oral ulcer model
Background
Recurrent oral ulcer is a superficial ulcerative lesion occurring on the oral mucosa. The lesions initially present as focal mucosal congestion and edema with miliary red spots accompanied by significant burning pain, and subsequently develop into superficial round or oval ulcers less than 5 mm in diameter. Based on these pathological characteristics, this model replicates similar mucosal damage via chemical cauterization.
Materials and methods
Male SD rats, 8 weeks old
Modeling method: In the model group, acetic acid was injected submucoally into the right buccal mucosa of the oral cavity. The oral ulcer model was successfully established 24 hours later.
Evaluation indexes: oral ulcer area measurement, ELISA detection, HE staining
Test and verify
Oral ulcer area measurement and ELISA detection

Oral mucosal tissue HE staining
