Compound 48/80‑Induced Skin Allergy Model
Compound 48/80‑Induced Skin Allergy Model
Background
Compound 48/80 is a synthetic polymer condensed from N-methyl-p-methoxyphenethylamine and formaldehyde. Upon skin stimulation, it triggers mast cell degranulation and histamine release, thereby inducing pseudo-allergic manifestations including tissue edema, pruritus, wheal formation and inflammatory responses.
Materials and methods
Female Balb/c mice (18–22 g)
Modeling method: Mice were sensitized by subcutaneous injection of compound 48/80 into the left footpad and intradermal injection into the dorsal skin. The skin allergy model was successfully established 10 minutes after footpad administration.
Evaluation indexes: toe volume measurement and scratching behavior test, ELISA detection
