Cecal ligation and puncture-induced sepsis model
Cecal ligation and puncture-induced sepsis model
Background
In the cecal ligation and puncture (CLP) model, sepsis originates from a polymicrobial infectious focus in the abdominal cavity. Bacteria subsequently enter the bloodstream and trigger a systemic inflammatory response. This model is a classic approach for establishing sepsis.
Materials and methods
C57BL/6 mice (male, 6–8 weeks old)
Modeling method: The cecum was ligated at the distal end, followed by needle puncture at the ligation site to successfully establish the sepsis model.
Evaluation indexes: gross observation, HE staining

Test and verify
Gross observation (heart, liver, lung, colon)

HE staining (myocardium, kidney)
