Neonatal colitis model induced by acetic acid enema via colonic perfusion
Neonatal colitis model induced by acetic acid enema via colonic perfusion
Background
Acetic acid directly stimulates the intestinal mucosa, causing epithelial necrosis and vascular injury, thereby increasing vascular permeability. It activates kinins, promotes fibrin hydrolysis and interferes with blood coagulation, and initiates inflammation by activating the cyclooxygenase and lipoxygenase pathways.
Materials and methods
SD rats (male and female, 3 months old) for mating
Modeling method: Ten-day-old pups were selected and administered acetic acid solution by colorectal perfusion to successfully establish a neonatal colitis model.
Evaluation indicators: gross observation, AWR score, HE staining
