Rat Arteriovenous Bypass Thrombosis Model

Background
Renal replacement therapy is the sole lifesaving treatment for patients with end-stage renal disease. Hemodialysis stands as one of the primary methods of renal replacement therapy today. A reliable vascular access is the lifeline for hemodialysis patients. Arteriovenous fistulas (AVFs) represent one of the most common forms of vascular access, enabling patients to connect their arteries and veins directly to the dialysis machine via an external fistula. However, during the creation and use of t
Materials and methods
Rats weighing 200 g or more, either sex acceptable; female SD rats aged 8 weeks were used in this study.
Molding Method: Anesthesia and disinfection, incision, creation of vascular access.
Evaluation Criteria: Determining Thrombus Wet Weight: After removing the copper wire, weigh the thrombus along with the wire. Thrombus wet weight = total weight - weight of copper wire.
Test and verify
